Paul Falconer has been practicing psychotherapy and substance use counseling for over 18 years with adolescents, young adults, couples, and families. This has included High School Special Education Programs, College Teaching and Advising Programs, Group Homes, Psychiatric Community Outreach, Rehabilitation Programs, and Social Service Agencies. Areas of specialization include (1) Dual-Diagnosis Counseling (Mental Health problems along with Substance Use problems); (2) Adjustment Counseling for Individuals, Couples, and Families coping with difficulties related to their roles, communication, and relationships; (3) Geriatric Mental Health Counseling for Older Adults coping with changes in their health and functioning, with associated Grief/Loss Counseling; and (4) Adolescent and Young Adult Counseling to help with self-esteem, improved behavior, communication, and relationships.

Paul takes a holistic, person-centered, and strength-based approach to counseling, fostering a trusting and collaborative relationship. This serves as the foundation for a counseling process whereby adolescents, adults, couples, and families are able to identify issues, concerns, and barriers to self-understanding and well-being. Paul assists clients with personal insight development and goal setting to help improve problem-solving, coping strategies, and the realization of personal, relationship, and family-based goals.
